Noise Nomads
LOAD 098

Western Massachussets is a land of shopping outlets and hemp-skinned hacky sacks. Jeff Hartford breathes in and out amongst all this hub bub. What he does do is give off an organic crunch. He's never content to just play to one schtick as it were, instead, practicing everything from christmas tree impersonation, to hand chime phasery, to all out 4-track abuse. What this means for you on this 7" is that you get a fever for his flavor. He has several other cassettes, an LP on RRR, and a self released 7". Bam.

Justice Yeldham and the Dynamic Ribbon Device
Live in School

Two shows in two education facilities. Two schools of thought Analog or Digital. Two sides of a record. Who will win? Which Justice track sounds better, pedals or laptop computer? To vote on our exclusive poll simply purchase the record from Load today and vote on which side rules. The winner (drawn randomly from voters on the winning side) will receive a free live presentation by Justice Yeldham in their home, in their preferred style.
Side A 172 MADISON 310305. ANALOG.
Recorded at a student co-op in the college town Madison Wisconsin. Pretty much a straight forward Yeldham set, made a bunch of noise blowing and sucking on a sheet of broken glass, chewed on it, smashed the sheet over his head, bled a little, hardly anyone showed up and even one of his hosts went home early. Miserable school kids on a miserable school night.
Side B 212 HAMAR 261005 DIGITAL.
Recorded at the fame style, Toneheim Folkeh/Mgskole musical highschool in Hamar Norway. Originally booked to play some stupid arts centre that luckily was double booked with more important people. Fortunately our host worked at the school and managed to move the gig to the assembly hall, and even better yet forced the entire student body to watch! Giving us the biggest audience for the entire Scandinavian tour. The kids loved it the joy was enough to make some faint and others sick.

Fun From None - No Fun 2004/2005
LOAD 087 DVDx2

Brooklyn in the year 2004 saw a meeting of the most unlikely minds. All the party wreckers of civilization that have been rattling in the closet for the 80's and 90's recording and performing that thing that is called "noise" and quietly drew close circle for a true oddity - a summit of some of the HI NRG soundmakers using every instrument within reach.
You hold in your hands a document of this strange thing. An open window in culture has allowed you to see this trade convention. The trade this convention is busking, you ask? the business of making human minds wrap themselves around furrowed brow sweat soaked oscillator operation, lap top foppery, cutlery amplification, guitar strangulation, and every other way to physically move air to the ear you can imagine. This is a DVD document of crazed live actions of sound pirates doing a log clog of frequency jam well outside the regular FM beamed crap that pollutes this stuffed melon hellhole: Battleship Earth. What are you waiting for, suit up.

Paper Rad
Trash Talking
LOAD 095 DVD

PAPER RAD is a Pittsburgh, PA/Northampton, MA collective that has bubbled under the elastic waistline of the world„s slacks for over a decade, tickling its privates and filling its diapers. This collective first started churning out cortex hemorrhaging lysergia comics and moved on to bands, videos, snack foods and installations. Past videos for the band for bands have included LIGHTNING BOLT (on LIGHTNING BOLT„s POWER OF SALAD LOAD 041) and the PICK A WINNER video compilation (LOAD 050). Think of this group showing up to the 80„s dance party with tazers and ketamine, and you waking up at the bottom of the ball tank at CHUCK E. CHEESE. Not suitable for work, but definitely suitable for family occasions!
This DVD includes lots of ephemera filling every color on the PANTONE wheel, but also including the recurring Alfe character in a brand new (never aired) TV Pilot. Also included will be the ultimate PAPER RAD „Guide to CD-ROMS„ - essential knowledge for jammers everywhere. Also word comes from PAPER RAD HQ that this shiny video capsule will have „multi multi media, box eyes, and Future Genies out-takes„ When all the footage is bonus, seated TV viewers come out ahead. This is for fans young and old looking for strange new voices!
Put this on the next time you turn on, or the next time you turn on a small community through introduction of smiley faces into public water supply areas! Seriously buy a box lot of 30, the future is cheap if you buy in the present. Stock up for the Kulture Warz!
Highlights
1. Alfe Pilot
2. Paper Rad Guide to DVD-ROM's
3. Wizardzz video
4. other krazy krap you just have no idea how to describe!

Lightning Bolt
Hypermagic Mountain
LOAD 078 CD

All killer, no filler follow-up to 2003's Wonderful Rainbow, Hypermagic Mountain slams into hyperdrive for a full 57 minute ride. The songs are dense and constructed from an intense three week recording session deep within a psychic sweatbox. The band has blurred differences to any other sound pirates with this record using a primal base and a new musical vocabulary fueled by chemistry-altering volume and kick ass SONGS! Throbbing low-end played on a 300 foot long bass and kick drums the size of Exxon supertankers, all stretched into a triumphant war stomp that all can love. With just bass and drums (a two piece band you see) they have constructed the densest sound imaginable.
