Aereogramme Deluxe 8 Vinyl Box Set available to pre-order now.
Following Aereogramme's much lamented dissolution in 2007, their reputation as one of Glasgow's most pioneering bands has, if anything, grown in stature. It's often the case that you only miss the water when the well runs dry and certainly with Aereogramme, the barren prospect of no more albums or blistering live shows is a hard one to endure. Over the course of three EPs and three albums, Aereogramme enhanced Chemikal Underground's catalogue immeasurably, bringing power and poignancy in equal measure: swelling your heart as they pulverised your eardrums.
We had often looked back regretfully at never releasing 'Sleep And Release' or 'My Heart Has A Wish That You Would Not Go' on vinyl - a regret which, when allied to the unavailability on vinyl of their Fukd ID and Livers And Lungs EPs, plagued us to such an extent that action simply had to be taken. Dispensing entirely with any half measures, we got together with the band and discussed the viability of a comprehensive, uber-dunting box-set - an Aereogramme Anthology on vinyl to all intents and purposes - and an enthusiastic agreement came swiftly over a brace of fine bourbons.
So what have we got then? Well, the most ambitious and downright blue ribbon release that Chemikal Underground has ever produced, that's what:
• The Glam Cripple EP (Fukd ID #1)
• White Paw EP
• Livers And Lungs EP
• A Story In White LP
• Sleep And Release 2LP
• My Heart Has A Wish That You Would Not Go 2LP
• Exclusive introduction by journalist Hardeep Phull
• Liner notes and personal reflections on Aereogramme's career by bassist, Campbell McNeil
'Livers And Lungs', 'Sleep And Release' and 'My Heart Has A Wish...' have never been available on vinyl and 'Glam Cripple' has been sold out on vinyl for quite some time so this box-set provides a unique opportunity to own all of Aereogramme's complete EP and LP output whilst on Chemikal Underground. Campbell's notes are funny, poignant and fascinatingly honest, elevating this box-set to something more akin to an historical document than a collector's curiosity.
An eight-piece vinyl box-set then, with an accompanying twelve page, 12" booklet, it's a genuinely amazing collection of Aereogramme's chemikal material and it is STRICTLY limited to 1,000 copies. This has been a real labour of love for both Aereogramme and Chemikal Underground and we couldn't be more proud of how it's turned out. We'd like to take the opportunity of thanking Mr Aidan Moffat for his invaluable design skills on the artwork and, more importantly, we'd like to thank everyone who buys it: a first for the label; a fitting tribute to an exceptional band and a magnificent addition to anyone's record collection. Mt. Wilson Repeater - Out Now
Jim Putnam's (Radar Bros.) debut solo project Mt. Wilson Repeater hits the stores on October 6th and seems to be enchanting pretty much everyone we know who's heard it. This deceptively twisted, oddly abstract album is an exercise in gentle psychedlia; strewn with curious time signatures and infused with percolating electronica, Mt. Wilson Repeater has allowed Jim to scratch the creative itches that have proved hard to reach through his work with the Radar Bros. We strongly recommend you take a punt on this quietly compelling album and point you to our online shop where you can pre-order the album now.

We'd just like to thank everyone who took the time and trouble to attend our show at the SWG3 on Saturday night. We hope you were as rewarded as we were by Angil's performance - an edgy, effortless performance of jazz-flecked eccentricity that recalled the best moments of dEUS, Pavement, The Fall, you name it. We'll be looking to bring the crew back over again in early December around the release of their 'Ouliposaliva' album and suspect that it will be a heavily attended show based on the warmth of the reception the band received on Saturday night. Thanks again for making their first Glasgow experience a special one.

Our intention to release Aereogramme's Chemikal back catalogue in the form of a multi-dunter, vinyl boxset continues as planned with the proposed six vinyl format being inflated to eight. Yes that's right, an EIGHT VINYL Box Set. When we asked for a sample of a suitable box to be sent to the office for our inspection it came as no surprise that the only one they could find that fitted the bill was 'Dave Gilmour Live In Gdansk'...
We maintain that the target release date for what is easily the most ambitious project we've ever undertaken is late November with pre-ordering facilities going live by the end of October. Keep watching the skies people...
Aidan Moffat and Stuart Braithwaite's new collaboration Aloha Hawaii have their debut release out now and it's available from our online shop and select indie retailers. The first installment in a proposed series of sporadic releases on various labels, the 10" vinyl features two tracks: "Towns On The Moon" and "I've Been Bad For Years And Years".
Arab Strap - Music From Rogue Farm
We've also made Arab Strap's rare and previously unreleased score to the animated short film 'Rogue Farm' available to buy as a digital download from our online shop. 11 tracks and running to 17 minutes long, you can purchase the entire download for £4.99. Not too shabby if you ask us... We'll also be printing some Arab Strap t-shirts in the coming weeks so again, keep an eye out for our regular mailouts (if you're a subscriber)...

We are excited to announce that a proposed vinyl only box set of Aereogramme's chemikal EPs and albums is now in the early stages of development. After discussions with the band, a six vinyl (count 'em) box set featuring the following releases, new liner notes and possible selective remastering has been slated for release in the late autumn:
Glam Cripple EP (Fukd ID #1) (sold out long, long ago)
White Paw EP
A Story In White
Sleep And Release (previously unavailable in vinyl)
Livers And Lungs (previously unavailable in vinyl)
My Heart Has A Wish That You Would Not Go (previously unavailable in vinyl)
In other Aereogramme / Online Shop news, we have restocked the band's hugely popular 'Orwell' t-shirt in all sizes and have also printed a run of their Hunter S. Tompson inspired t-shirt to boot. Check out our online shop for more details...
